Mahomes and some other guys

Remember the old saying take Quarterbacks Late!? Welp old sayings are sayings for a reason.

Patrick Mahomes KC        8th round ADP: 13th QB taken          (417 points) 5097 passing yards 50 TDs  12 INTs

  • Mahomes was a Fantasy GOD this year. 8 weeks with over 25 points and only three weeks with under 20 points helped make Mahomes the hands down Fantasy MVP of 2018. Mahomes started the season being maybe the highest boom or bust QB drafted this year and boy did he blow expectation out of the water while leading the most explosive offense in the league. Mahomes should be on the keeper radar for everyone who drafted him around the 8th round or later, with him probably going in Round 2 or 3 in redraft leagues. Most people don’t ever think a fantasy QB should be taken that early but with what Mahomes did this year, and with him being so young, the sky is the limit for this future real football MVP.

Matt Ryan ATL                  9th round ADP: 22nd QB taken         (355 points) 4924 passing yards 35 TDs  7 INTs

  • Mahomes was GREAT and we won’t stop hearing about it until next September (or maybe ever) but Ryan was possibly the biggest steal of the entire year when he was being drafted as the 22nd QB and finished the year at number 2. I’m no Matt Ryan fan with his ugly passes and his artful way of losing games but despite some inflated totals due to a 40 point game he finished the season strong with four games over 19 points.

Ben Roethlisberger PIT     7th round ADP: 11th QB taken          (342 points) 5219 passing yards 34 TDs 16 INTs

  • After week 1 against Cleveland people were already pressing the panic button but 7 days later Ben threw for 450 yards and 3 TDs. Needless to say people who drafted Big Ben after say Kirk Cousins felt okay for the rest of the season when he lead the league in passing yards. He was bound to have a solid enough season but I don’t think anyone saw the 36 year old finishing ahead of the wunder kid Deshaun Watson and perennial number one QB Aaron Rodgers. After this year Ben should probably hover around the same draft spot if he decides to play another year with those constantly troubled Steelers.

Deshaun Watson HOU      4th round ADP: 5th QB taken            (332 points) 4165 passing yards 26 TDs 16 INTs

Andrew Luck IND             6th round ADP: 8th QB taken            (328 points) 4593 passing yards 39 TDs 15 INTs

Aaron Rodgers GB            2nd round ADP: 1st QB taken            (313 points) 4442 passing yards 25 TDs 2 INTs

Rodgers got hurt in the first half of the first game and never rounded out to form.

Jared Goff LAR                  9th round ADP: 18th QB taken          (310 points) 4688 passing yards 32 TDs 12 INTs

Drew Brees NO                  5th round ADP: 6th QB taken            (305 points) 3992 passing yards 32 TDs 5 INTs

Russell Wilson SEA          4th round ADP: 4th QB taken            (299 points) 3448 passing yards 35 TDs 7 INTs

  • Wilson was the second biggest bust of the season at his position despite playing some of his best football. With Carson stealing all the running touchdowns this year he reverted back to an average fantasy QB.

Dak Prescott DAL              8th round ADP: 12th QB taken          (286 points) 3885 passing yards 22 TDs 8 INTs

Phillip Rivers LAC            9th round ADP: 21st QB taken          (285 points) 4308 passing yards 32 TDs 12 INTs

Kirk Cousins MIN             7th round ADP: 10th QB taken          (283 points) 4298 passing yards 30 TDs 10 INTs

Cam Newton CAR             3rd round ADP: 3rd QB taken           (283 points) 3395 passing yards 24 TDs 13 INTs (missed two games)

  • Cam was a consistent top 5 QB all the way up to week 14 when his injuries seemed to catch up to him and he couldn’t throw deep passes anymore. This was great for McCaffrey but Newton owners had to look elsewhere after he scored 10 and 4 points in weeks 15 and 16 respectively and finished the season on the bench watching Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen play. Don’t sleep on Cam next year though if he is back to the same fantasy monster he was throughout most the season.

Tom Brady NE                   2nd round ADP: 2nd QB taken           (263 points) 4355 passing yards 29 TDs 11 INTs

  • Damn. This one really hurt all those Patriots fans that drafted him so early. Especially when they kept starting him and kept starting him and then he put up 5 points in week 16.

Mitchell Trubisky CHI      9th round ADP: 15th QB taken          (240 points) 3223 passing yards 24 TDs 12 INTs (missed two games)

Baker Mayfield CLE          undrafted ADP: 26th QB taken         (240 points) 3725 passing yards 27 TDs 15 INTs (did not play in two games)
